Nominate agricultural innovators for British Farming Awards
With farmers doing an amazing job keeping the nation fed at this truly unprecedented time, it seems the industry is finally getting the wider recognition it richly deserves.
With farmers doing an amazing job keeping the nation fed at this truly unprecedented time, it seems the industry is finally getting the wider recognition it richly deserves.
British farmers are continuing to do what they do best – producing food and much more to keep us all healthy and well-fed.
And now is the time to recognise those individuals and organisations that go above and beyond to promote innovation in the sector. The British Farming Awards 2020 has several categories for Innovation, including Agri-Tech Innovator, Arable Innovator, Digital Innovator and Machinery Innovator.
Last year Will Wells, CEO of CHAP member Hummingbird Technologies, won the Gold Award for Agri-Tech Innovator of the Year.
The awards are now open for entries and nominations. Go to BFA 2020 Awards to submit your nomination/entry before 11.55pm on Friday 26th June.
The initial plan was to hold the awards ceremony at the National Conference Centre, Birmingham on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, bringing more than 700 farmers and industry professionals together to celebrate innovation and achievement across the industry.
However, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the Awards this year are set to go ahead with a brand new virtual format designed to continue the emphasis on celebrating the fantastic individuals who make the farming industry and its community so unique.
The online format will allow the awards to bring even more people together in challenging times to celebrate British Farming Innovation – in the comfort of your own living room!
Sophie Throup, Head of Agriculture at event sponsor Morrisons, said: “The British Farming Awards are a fantastic way to help us share and celebrate the inspiring people and businesses which make our farming industry so great: we encourage you to get involved and apply. It’s still a good time to pause and acknowledge the effort, innovation and skills which go into providing food farmed to high standards that we all enjoy.”
