Growers wanted for survey on substrate use in Controlled Environment Agriculture

CHAP is conducting a survey in order to better understand substrate (growing media) use across UK horticulture, both as part of our role within the InnovateUK-funded Gelponics project, and also in line with our focus on agri-tech solutions for net zero emissions.

The Gelponics consortium, led by AEH Innovative Hydrogel Ltd, is exploring novel and sustainable substrates for the hydroponic production of horticultural crops, using CHAP’s Vertical Farming Development Centre at Stockbridge Technology Centre as a state-of-the-art facility for product development.

As part of this project, we would like to explore substrate use across the UK horticulture sector and particularly the controlled environment agriculture (CEA) subsector. We have created a short survey in Google Forms, in order to gather the thoughts of growers on the most important factors for their particular growing operation.

The survey will only take about five to ten minutes to complete, so please do click on the link below and make sure your voice is heard.

All the collected data will be anonymised and used to help focus and optimise R&D during the Gelponics project (and shape the eventual outcomes), as well as being disseminated back to the sector as part of the knowledge exchange element of the project.

To take part in the survey please go to Horticulture Survey.

If you have any questions about working with CHAP, please send us an email using the enquiries form at the bottom of our homepage.
