Eagle Labs Agri-Tech Awareness Week

From Monday 17th August, Eagle Labs is running an Agri-Tech Awareness week to highlight the importance of innovation in the sector.

There will be a series of webinars covering different themes, with insight from a range of businesses.

The first session, from 11am to 12 noon on Monday 17th August, will look at the importance of Agri-Tech with Chris Lyons Innovation Lead, Agriculture at Innovate UK and KTN Head of Agrifood, David Telford. They will consider how innovation can help the sector and outline opportunities to support Agriculture 4.0.

The same time on day two will introduce agri-tech businesses from within the Eagle Labs network, with talks from Richard Hobson of Herdsy and Gareth Davies of Yagro.

The third session will see CHAP Innovation Hub Lead, Richard Glass joining representatives of the other Agri-Tech Centres of Innovation – Agri-EPI Centre CTO Shamal Mohammed, Agrimetrics CPO Dr Matthew Smith and CIEL Head of Business Development Stuart Blyth – to look at the current R&D pipeline for agriculture. This session, on Wednesday 19th August, will also run from 11am to 12 noon.

The Thursday session will be later in the day, running from 2-3 pm. It will focus on innovation and investment opportunities in agrifood, with speakers including KTN’s Simon Baty, Business Angel Laura Mallaburn and Chris Danks from ISCF.

The week will be rounded off with a session aimed at farmers who are thinking about investing in Agri-Tech Innovation but not sure whether it will be worth it. It will feature farmers who have seen their business benefit from investing in innovation. This session, on Friday 21st August, will revert to the 11am to 12 noon timing.
