Hosted by AgriEPI Membership Manager, Annabelle Gardner, the webinar launched the new membership for international organisations and showcase the support offered by two of the leading UK agri-tech innovation centres CHAP and Agri-EPI.
CHAP International business development manager Dr Jenna Ross, gave a brief overview of CHAP’s capabilities and spoke about the support CHAP offers for the development, evaluation and delivery of technology and data-driven solutions to the challenges faced by the agricultural industry. She also outlined how dual international membership enables companies to access to the two Agri-Tech Centre’s state-of-the-art capabilities and support, helping businesses reach their full potential.
Sam Hoste from the Department of International Trade, spoke about the opportunities available at DIT, through the catapult system and the support that is offered through Government policy to the dynamic food supply chain and their collaboration with SMEs.
Lisa Williams, Business Development Director for fellow Agri-Tech Centre Agri-EPI, gave an overview of its focus on its target to ensure the UK remains a world leader in precision agriculture and engineering and knowledge generation.
There was also an update on the Ultra-Fine Bubbles Project, from Dr Andrew Furness, MagGrow chief scientific officer, to demonstrate the joint R&D capabilities of the two Agri-Tech Centres .
Pedro Carvalho gave an overview of the Knowledge Transfer Network KTN, discussing international funding opportunities, the AgriFood Africa connect, Horizon projects.
The session concluded with a Q&A session, giving delegates the opportunity to find out how dual international membership can be a passport to the UK’s excellence in agri-tech innovation.
