ISCF TFP Science and Technology into Practice - Consortium Workshop

On Friday January 24th, Dr Aurélie Bovi attended an interactive workshop in London, organised by UKRI, for consortia developing applications for the upcoming ISCF Transforming Food Production Science & Technology into Practice (TFP STP) competitions.

The ISCF TFP STP awards will fund projects that have the potential to improve productivity and sustainability and contribute to the target of net-zero emissions from agriculture by 2040; up to £15 million will be available across two competition strands: Feasibility study projects (projects <£250,000 in size) and Demonstration projects (projects <£4M in size).

Aurélie attended on behalf of CHAP to discuss two projects CHAP is currently developing for the demonstrator strand of the call:

  • The first project aims to disrupt the current land-based model of agriculture by demonstrating nutrient circularity, resource efficiency and enhanced nutrition within controlled environment agriculture (CEA) production systems.
  • The second project is designed to construct a biologicals accelerator platform that enables rapid assessment of products (biopesticides & biostimulants), integration of supporting technologies and demonstration of approaches in field cropping systems.

The creative and interactive workshop was designed to provide advice and support to consortia and partnerships to further develop their thoughts, networks and collaborations in preparation for building a submission to the calls, which closes at noon on February 26th 2020.
