Innovation Summit promotes 21st century agri-tech solutions

The event attracted more than 500 delegates from 41 countries, hosted an impressive total of 75 presentations and welcomed in excess of 100 startups.

CHAP CEO Fraser Black and Innovation Director Dr Ruth Bastow spent a jam-packed two days talking to global agribusinesses, solution providers, entrepreneurs and investors alike.

The conference program covered the adoption of smart farming, the power of the biologicals, advances in crop protection, gene-editing, robotics and AI, and supply chain tractability.

Charlotte Smith from BBC Radio 4’s Farming Today was there to interview Angie Curtis from Roboscientific (2019 Tesco Agri T-Jam Pitch Day winner) and Brett Begemann, COO at Bayer Crop Science. Mr Begemann noted “the need to provide farmers with relevant and useful information to make better decisions” – a concept that is currently been explored by the Innovation Team at CHAP.
